Funny Friday—The comic genius of Tim Conway and Harvey Korman
Rather than lament the paucity of true comedy these days, I decided to treat myself, and everyone reading this, to the comedy gold of Tim Conway and Harvey Korman, two of the funniest actors of the seventies. They were regulars on the Carol Burnett show, a program I watched every week without fail.
The entire program was full of laughs, but in my opinion the best sketches were the ones featuring the two of them. When the segment began, I paid close attention, waiting for the moments that Mr. Conway would purposely flub a line or do something else in an effort to get Mr. Korman laughing. This was a running competition between them, with each doing his best to get the other to break character. Of course, Mr. Conway was usually the winner, but that only meant the viewers had something extra, beyond what the writers dreamed up, to laugh about.
Have a laugh with some comedy gold:
There seem to be fewer comedians that tickle my funny bone lately, so I am glad YouTube is around to let me watch these programs again.
