Just a quick note to wish everyone the Happiest New Year. All of us at A Glimmer of Gold want the very best for you and your loved ones throughout the coming year.

However you celebrate, please do so safely. I am not trying to lecture, but please take the time to plan the conclusion of your celebration. Arrange a designated driver or engage a taxi, Uber, etc.

As for my wife and I, we will spend the evening as we always do, by going to bed long before midnight.

I will also partake in the time-honored tradition of New Year’s resolutions. I can say with all honesty that I have a perfect record. In almost 48 years of marriage, I have never missed fulfilling the promises I make on New Year’s Eve. That might have something to do with the fact that my resolution is the same every year, and consists of deciding not to make any. It’s easy to accomplish a goal that you never set.

However you observe or celebrate the passing of the year, I want to wish you the very best. May 2024 be a wonderful year.
