Miscellaneous Monday – Audiobook Updates
For today’s post, I thought I would do a bit of a recap of recent audiobook releases and what is coming in the future. I tend to focus much less on audiobooks, and there is a specific reason for it. Once I provide Tantor with the manuscript, they run with it and do everything else. By contrast, as an independent author, I handle all aspects of the process for eBook and physical formats, though of late I have farmed out the creation of covers, so I am much more involved with the those formats than audiobooks. I am grateful that Tantor is publishing my stuff in audio, as I find it amazing how much the stories come to life when the narration is excellent.
In that, I have been blessed by very good narrators. Mary Sarah narrated my first few books, and I really enjoy her style and her professionalism. Of late, I have also had Harry Frost coming on board, and I really enjoy him too. They provide very different styles and presentations. In the future, I think Harry Frost will become my main narrator (so long as he is willing!) but Mary Sarah will still show up as narrator. I hope everyone enjoys their work as much as I do!
Now, to the task at hand. I have had several releases of late and there are more in the pipe. Without further ado, here is a list. The images contain links to the Tanto product page for those that have already been released.

Only Exceedingly Shy
Disheartened and convinced by Elizabeth’s assertion of Miss Bingley’s character, Jane Bennet insists Elizabeth return to London with the Gardiners after Christmas to provide her with a reprieve from their mother, who has not accepted Elizabeth’s rejection of Mr. Collins’s suit.
What Elizabeth could never have imagined was her chance meeting with Mr. Darcy in London, and even more shocking is his request to introduce her to his sister, Miss Georgiana Darcy. When Elizabeth agrees, she makes the young heiress’s acquaintance, immediately understanding Miss Darcy’s crippling shyness and her low spirits.
Amid her interactions with Miss Darcy, Elizabeth learns another astonishing fact, that Mr. Darcy looks at her with the eyes of a suitor. Though Elizabeth’s world is turned upside down, she learns there is more to Mr. Darcy than she ever thought. She also learns to be wary of the claims of a man who took advantage of her initial dislike for the gentleman.
With her usual fortitude, Elizabeth navigates these shoals, determined to provide friendship to a young girl, learn more about the increasingly intriguing Mr. Darcy, and discover the truth about Mr. Bingley’s abandonment of her sister.
Saving Anne de Bourgh
Mr. Darcy’s proposal to Elizabeth Bennet ends in acrimony, but when Elizabeth returns to Longbourn, it is with a changed perspective forced on her by Mr. Darcy’s letter. At Longbourn, Elizabeth cannot but acknowledge that the gentleman’s charges have some merit given the behavior of certain members of her family.
On the heels of her return, however, Elizabeth makes a shocking discovery, for one day, while visiting Meryton with her sisters, she comes across none other than Anne de Bourgh, daughter of the imposing Lady Catherine. Further investigation reveals the truth that Miss de Bourgh is there traveling with the very Mr. Wickham against whom Mr. Darcy had warned her.
Knowing she must do something, Elizabeth persuades Miss de Bourgh of the folly of eloping with the libertine, after which she must navigate the danger Mr. Wickham presents. For the man who has defrauded so many, who attempted to elope with Miss Darcy will not abandon his schemes without a fight.
Into this maelstrom comes Lady Catherine, pursuing her daughter to prevent her from making a huge mistake, and Mr. Darcy, summoned by his aunt to assist. The truth of the matter when revealed provides a much-needed measure of hope to Darcy, for with Elizabeth’s actions to assist his cousin, she may not be so lost to him as he once thought.
The Challenge of Entail
New hope arrives for the Bennet family when Mr. Bennet discovers a way by which he can end the dreaded entail, leaving him free to leave Longbourn where he wishes. Mr. Bennet seizes the opportunity, ensuring his family’s support and providing for their future.
When the militia arrives in Meryton, they find a Bennet family much changed from what it had been in the past, for the youngest Bennets are better behaved and not out, and the eldest must deal with new and unwanted attention. For Jane Bennet, the difference is striking, for her position as heir to Longbourn ensures interest from quarters she has no desire to receive.
And what of the Netherfield party? Business in London delays their arrival in Hertfordshire, and when they do arrive, Mr. Darcy discovers the presence of a hated enemy and finds a woman he can admire. When enemies collide, dangerous situations erupt which have the potential to leave them all changed. Against this backdrop, Mr. Darcy must not only woo the woman he loves, but also protect her against the machinations of an unscrupulous scoundrel.
More Agreeably Engaged
The morning of Mr. Collins’s proposal, Elizabeth leaves Longbourn for a walk, furious at the parson for proposing and her mother for pressing her to accept, eager to put some distance between herself and those who would persecute her. While walking, she meets a most unexpected acquaintance.
Fitzwilliam Darcy is dealing with frustrations of his own. Caroline Bingley, fearful that her brother means to propose to what she considers an unsuitable woman, has demanded that Darcy support her determination to prevent him from making a drastic mistake. While Darcy might have agreed with her view, what she suggests strikes him as deceitful.
Their meeting on the path proves fortuitous, for it allows them a chance to work past their first impressions. As they meet every day the following week, they understand more of each other, their regard growing, barriers between them falling. While misunderstandings drove them apart, on the paths of Longbourn estate they have the chance to set all right between them and attain happiness together that neither thought possible.
Forthcoming
Now we come to those that are in the pipe. This is a mix of old, recent, and upcoming works. All titles will be narrated by Harry Frost and have been listed in the order they will be released.
A Most Agreeable Compromise
Publish Date: December 3, 2024
My most successful work to date when adjusted for length. I am really excited about this one, as I think Harry will really bring the story to life. Here is the description:
Miss Caroline Bingley has long been a thorn in the side of Fitzwilliam Darcy’s friendship with Charles Bingley; the visit to Netherfield Park to help Bingley learn the craft of an estate manager has all the potential for disaster. But Darcy will not shirk, for his friendship with Bingley outweighs his distaste for the man’s sister. In his defense, Darcy enlists his manservant, a man equally committed to ensure Miss Bingley will not become his master’s wife.
What Darcy had not expected was to find a woman in Hertfordshire, a woman he had only dreamed of meeting. Miss Elizabeth Bennet was everything a woman should be—handsome, intelligent, witty, considerate, and possessing the most beautiful eyes Darcy had ever beheld. It was not long before Darcy found himself ensnared in her web, helplessly besotted, knowing she was exactly what he wanted in a wife.
Yet the specter of Miss Bingley’s resolve to go to whatever lengths to have her way hung over his overtures to the woman he was rapidly coming to love. In time, Darcy was certain Miss Bingley would make her move, her actions certain to destroy his happiness if she succeeded. Darcy, however, was not without resources, and not without his own determination to do everything he could to thwart her machinations and find his happiness.
Out of Obscurity
Publish Date January 28, 2024
One of my older titles, and also my longest. I have had several people tell me that this was their favorite of my books. It is a complete reimaging, one that gives Elizabeth a different identity than the one we all know.
At a dinner party in London during the season, Fitzwilliam Darcy meets an enchanting young woman. Though he recognizes her beauty and poise, he is struck by a sense of familiarity and realizes she is someone connected to him.
What follows is a whirlwind of events in which the woman’s lineage is discovered and her true identity is established. Darcy quickly realizes she is a woman estimable in her own right, and he finds himself besotted.
But amid the miraculous events of a lost soul returning home, dark forces conspire against the young woman, for her loss was not an accident. And so it is that a man is moved to action by a boon long denied, determined to avoid being cheated by Miss Elizabeth Bennet again.
The Bennet Inheritance
Publish Date: February 11, 2025
This one is yet forthcoming, though the eBook and physical formats are scheduled to be published in the third week of October. I have not finalized the blurb yet, but the gist of the story is that Mr. Bennet inherits Longbourn unexpectedly and moves his family there. As Fitzwilliam Darcy is already known to him, Darcy comes to assist him in becoming accustomed to estate management, and becomes enamored with Elizabeth. Throughout the course of the story, the Bennets become a landed family and learn the history of how they came to own the estate.
Four Days at Netherfield
Publish Date September 9, 2025
Finally, Four Days and Netherfield is a legacy title that was published in July. The audio publish date is a little distant yet, but as it has been scheduled, I have included it. As with the first three, Harry Frost is to narrate this book.
Elizabeth Bennet’s visit to Netherfield Park to tend to her ailing sister takes a surprising turn when she meets with Mr. Darcy on the grounds, and his manner so altered as to shock her. The gentleman provokes her gratitude when he helps her escape all Miss Bingley’s contempt, conveying her to her sister’s room and taking the duty of informing the mistress of her presence on himself.
As her stay at the estate lengthens, Elizabeth comes to appreciate him, for this Mr. Darcy is a man worth knowing, his opinions intelligent, his manner deferential. Their newfound amity is not agreeable to all those present, however, for Miss Bingley has long schemed to draw a proposal from the unwilling Mr. Darcy and will not surrender her prize without a struggle.
Before Elizabeth and Jane depart from the estate, Elizabeth has proof of the gentleman’s interest in his own words, and she cannot help but wonder how the future will unfold with this who appears so determined to have her good opinion. The arrival of a fool and a libertine in turn throws obstacles in the lovers’ path, but the course of true love, though it may not always be smooth, cannot be prevented forever. Those four days at Netherfield Park have changed Elizabeth’s perspective, which will change her future.
