For today’s Tuesday Tunes post, I decided to do a song that had romance. I further decided I wanted it to be a duet.

I mentioned the notion to my husband, who immediately suggested “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain and Bryan White. We played that song at our wedding, so it has been special to us for a long time.

I love duets in general, and this country pop song is the perfect one to use for weddings. It’s a statement concerning what you expect and intend for the future. There is a solo version of the song, but I think the duet works better.

Interestingly, Shania Twain was at a soccer game in Italy when she started writing the song. She first thought it would be a good song for Celine Dion to sing, but as she and her then-husband worked on the song, they decided it should be a duet. They initially believed that Elton John would be the best fit for the duet, though they changed their choice to Bryan White. Furthermore, Shania Twain’s husband convinced her to do the song herself instead of giving it to Celina Dion.

The song was a hit on multiple charts, and Shania Twain has sung the song on all of her tours.
